About the project: Feeling discarded and unloved in her marriage, 67-year old Mae finds a new sense of self after unearthing a mysterious gravesite. Set against the backdrop of a real life event, HAG is about an older woman rediscovering her sense of self before it's too late. It explores society's view of older women and reexamines our definition of a witch.
About the filmmaker: Amelia Moses is a Canadian-British film director & screenwriter based in Montreal. As a filmmaker she is interested in female-driven stories of the macabre and the uncanny. Her work has been screened at genre festivals around the world including Fantasia, Fantastic Fest and Stiges, and has been written about by publications such as The Hollywood Reporter and The New York Times. Her first feature BLEED WITH ME was released as a Shudder Original in 2021. In 2024, she won the DGC Jean-Marc Vallee bursary at the Banff World Media Festival, and was a fellow of the inaugural BendFilm:Basecamp. Her latest short film HER BODY is currently on the festival circuit.
