SLEEP
NICE SHOES Post production (color) Grant
About the Project: “When I was 12, my family experienced a home-invasion robbery: my sister and I were about to leave for school, around 7:30AM, when two masked men broke into our house and held us at gunpoint. Since then, I’ve long been interested in the irony of horror occurring in broad daylight, the time when we should all feel safest. SLEEP is a brief window into that fear.”
Using stark visuals, SLEEP gets inside the mind of a woman experiencing a horror that feels like a predestined, foregone conclusion – only to realize that her paranoia was justified. The four-minute short, starring Kate Adams, takes place in a single shot, pulling out from a woman’s eye to reveal the full scope of her nightmare.
