About the project: The Feels - or the Debilitated Condition of the Reproductive System is the 3rd short in the trilogy The Possibility of Perceived Existence. This short film is about our inability to actually have an experience without the need of social media.
About the filmmaker: Originally from Brazil, Carolina Costa is based between Mexico City and Los Angeles and is a graduate from the American Film Institute. Working as an acclaimed cinematographer, she has photographed thirteen features (such as David Zonana’s Heroic, Minhal Baig’s HALA, Tara Miele’s Wander Darkly, and Venice’s award-winning documentary Babenco) that have premiered at festivals such Cannes, Venice, Tribeca, and Sundance. She recently won cinematography awards for Erica Tremblay’s Fancy Dance at SXSW and Hannah Peterson’s The Graduates at Tribeca Film Festival. Previously, Carolina’s work on the Cannes feature The Chosen Ones earned Costa an Ariel Award for Best Cinematography. Her most recent short film, Ecstasy, premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and screened at MoMA. Carolina is currently developing her directorial debut.
