STEVIE SZERLIP
YOUNG FOREVER
HEARD CITY Post-production grant providing sound editing, design, and mixing.
About the Project: A Korean entrepreneur is implicated in a pyramid scheme that goes far beyond beauty product endorsement in an elliptical thriller about risk, survival and loss.
About the Filmmaker: After receiving a degree in Film & Media from SUNY Purchase, Stevie began her career as a technician for the iconic video art institution Electronic Art Intermix, where she worked with pioneering, experimental film and video artists and gained hands-on experience with early video formats. Following this she created content, short docs and editorials for several New York magazines and brands, until recently swapping coastlines to pursue narrative and commercial work in LA.
She is a Creative Producer with Woman and Film, who most recently developed FFFest, an all female festival celebrating women in the industry, with their forthcoming festival in NY this October. She is part of a collective, Smudge Films, dedicated to highlighting work from unconventional auteurs. Their most recent feature CLARA'S GHOST, which Stevie produced on, premiered at Sundance in 2017.
She has directed branded and commercial content for clients including Sonos, Maybelline, Vice, Marc Jacobs, Revlon, Shinola, and Beyond Yoga and more. Her last short film, THE FOLLOWER, premiered at Maryland Film Festival and is making its way around the country, while YOUNG FOREVER finishes up post.
